Recordkeeping Requirements
December 2, 2011 - As the end of the year approaches, safety managers will be spending the last few weeks ensuring that their company's recordkeeping requirements are being met.  Now is the time to finalize your MIOSHA forms 300, 300A and 301.  Pursuant to the standard, employers must record information about every work-related injury or illness that involves loss of consciousness, restricted work activity or job transfer, days away from work, or medical treatment beyond first aid.  They must also record significant work-related injuries and illnesses that are diagnosed by a physician or licensed health care professional.  Employers shall post the 300A Annual Summary in a conspicuous place no later than February 1st and leave it in place until at least April 30th.

If you're not sure whether a case is recordable, call your local MIOSHA office for help. You may be fined for failure to comply.  Excel versions of the required forms are available here.
